SPREE Interactive — family-friendly VR — launches software only licensing option

The Rabbit Hole VR is thrilled to announce our latest collaboration with SPREE Interactive, a trailblazer in family-friendly VR experiences. We recently signed on as a North American distributor for SPREE — and at a very exciting time!

SPREE is now offering a Software as a Service (SaaS) option for family entertainment centers and arcades. This means you can add their full library of games to any VR arena that is equipped with HTC Vive Focus 3s. Hello, additional revenue and new party package options!

Pay-Per-Play: A Cost-Effective Solution

SPREE has long had success providing comprehensive turnkey VR systems to locations that include the required hardware, software and physical structure that creates a visually appealing and enticing arena attraction. Don’t worry, they still offer their turnkey solutions like the VR Playground that features padded sides and a delightfully colorful backdrop and floor.

But with the launch of the SaaS version, FECs can now craft their own unique Free Roam Arenas while accessing SPREE's extensive library of games. This shift opens a world of possibilities for locations to tailor their VR experiences to their specific audiences.

The software-only model includes a flexible and cost-effective payment approach: pay-per-play. This ensures that FECs only spend on the actual usage of the games, lowering the barrier to entry and optimizing their investment. This model is ideal for managing operational costs while maximizing entertainment value.

Kid-Friendly Adventures and Multi-Generational Fun

One of the most exciting aspects of SPREE's game library is its appeal to a wide age range. Designed specifically for kids aged 6 and up, these games require minimal to no controller usage, making them accessible and enjoyable for younger players. This simplicity also extends to older generations, enabling the whole family, including grandparents, to join in the fun.

While all of their content is family-friendly, SPREE also recently launched a series of VR laser tag games geared toward a slightly older audience ages 10 and up. Their laser tag-style games only require one controller and one button, so they are still very accessible and fun for players of all skill levels.

Is SPREE Right for Your Venue?

As you know from our Core Values, we only make recommendations that fit with your business model so whatever VR you choose is profitable, drives repeat business and has players leaving rave reviews online.

If your FEC, arcade or other entertainment business meets these qualifications, we’d suggest carrying SPREE as an attraction:

  • Your target market is kids, families or other groups such as church youth groups who may want an alternative option to shooting/gun games.

  • You have minimal staff. SPREE doesn’t require a lot (if any) onboarding. You may help players into their VR headsets or you could simply show a video with instructions on how to get loaded in for large groups. There are no controllers for most games so the set-up process is extremely quick.

  • You want high-throughput. The SPREE games allow from 1-10 players, making it ideal for groups and birthday parties. We recommend integrating SPREE into your birthday party packages and letting groups book the arena for a set amount of time, such as two hours.

  • You have at least 16ftx16ft of space you can use as an arena.
